Electric Organ Music Played the Charles Stanek Way
A rare glimpse back in time to Chicago suburbia, somewhere around the middle of the last century. Captured by a Webster Model 80 wire recorder we hear the virtuosity of Charles Stanek on the electric organ. Possibly recorded at home, we can hear background chatter and other noises of guests at Charlie's place. Brings back memories of Saturday afternoons at the Mill Bridge Roller Rink. Perhaps Charlie played there, who knows?
I had purchased the wire recorder at a "basement sale" in or around Berwyn, Illinois in the mid 1980's as a curiosity and had played only one or two of the spools that came with the purchase. What you are hearing now would be the second playing of this spool since the 1980's and probably beyond, the first being for calibration purposes.
